Varsity recaps continue for the final full week of May contests

Baseball
The Spartans traveled to Westbrook on Tuesday, May 23, defeating the Blue Blazes 16-0. Tyler Sevigny went 3-4, 3R, 1BB, 1RBI, 2SB. Ben Gill went 3-4, 2R, 3RBI, 1SB, and Cayden Gendron went 2-3, 2R, 1RBI.
They hosted and defeated Deering 14-2 on Thursday, May 25. For pitching, Alex Sevigny (1IP), Ryan Alexander (3IP), and Caden Fontaine (1IP) combined for 5IP, 2H, 2R, 0ER, 1BB, 6K. Fontaine went 3-4 (with a home run), 2R, 2RBI, while Ryan Alexander went 2-3, 1R, 4RBI, 1SB, and James Blood went 1-2, 1R, 1RBI, 1SB
They traveled to Marshwood on Friday, May 26, defeating the Hawks 2-0. Gill pitched 7 innings, allowing 2H, 0R, 0ER, 0BB, 7Ks. Beckett Barlow: went 1-4 with 2RBIs and Cayden Gendron went 3-3.
The Spartans wrap up their regular season on May 30 against South Portland.
Boys Lacrosse
The Noble/Sanford co-op defeated Traip Academy 18-7 on Monday, May 22. Ayden Lockard had six goals. AJ Anderson had three goals and three assists.
They went on to defeat Massabesic 19-6 on Wednesday, May 24. Anderson, who scored two goals and three assists, earned his 100th career point. Tylor Pitman scored one goal and two assits.
The team fell to Marshwood 19-9 on Friday, May 26. Anderson scored one goal and had three assists.
Girls Lacrosse
The Spartans traveled to Deering on Wednesday, May 24 for a record-breaking performance for the program, defeating the Rams 20-1, the most goals scored in program history. Violet Quinn scored a career-best six goals, the first three coming in the opening 3.5 minutes of the game. Emerson Tolpin scored four goals and tallied two assists. Kay Hessler had three goals and three assists. Sadie Sevigny scored twice and added three assists, Ali Long added two goals, Savannah Knight tacked on one goal and one assist, and Mckenna Nanartowich and Mayson Tolpin each added one goal. Caitlin Hanselmann added an assist and a career-high and program-best eight draw controls. Payton Kimball made six saves.
On Friday, May 26 the Spartans hosted Gorham for the program’s “Stick it to Cancer” dedication game. Despite a tough 12-5 loss to the Rams, the program raised more than $300 for the American Cancer Society. Emerson Tolpin scored four goals and Sadie Sevigny added one.

The 7-5 Spartans end their regular season on the road at Westbrook on Tuesday, May 30 and at Portland on Thursday, June 1.
Softball
The Kennebunk/Sanford co-op traveled to Windham on Monday, May 22, suffering their second loss of the season in a tough 1-0 battle.
They bounced back to defeat Thornton Academy 3-2 on Wednesday, May 24. They wrapped up a busy week by defeating the Scarborough Red Storm 4-0 on Friday, May 26. Hannah Mueller had two hits.
Girls Tennis
The team hosted Westbrook for their final match of the regular season on Tuesday, May 23, winning 5-0.
The squad hosted first-round playoffs against Cheverus, defeating the Stags 3-2. Olivia Guinard won first singles (6-2, 6-3), and Sydney Roux won third singles (6-2, 6-0). Audrey Cote and Audrey Payeur won first doubles.
The team advances in playoffs on the road against Scarborough on May 30.
Boys Track & Field
The Spartans traveled to Gorham on Friday, May 26 for the SMAA meet. Tucker Walker placed first in discus and second in shot put. Nick Farrington placed third in javelin, Mason Van Gieson took fifth in pole vault, and Isaac Colon took fifth in the 1600 racewalk. CJ Grant snagged a seventh-place finish in high jump, provisionally qualifying for states.
The Sanford Track team will head to the State Meet at Mt. Ararat in Topsham on Saturday, June 3.
Girls Track & Field
The Spartans traveled to Gorham on Friday, May 26 for the SMAA meet. Freshman Annalise Stimmell took sixth in the 800m dash and Senior Kora Eckelman took second in discus.
The Sanford Track team will head to the State Meet at Mt. Ararat in Topsham on Saturday, June 3.
