Parade Details
Instead of a carnival this year, classes are building floats according to their grade’s theme for a parade. The Homecoming Parade was a longstanding tradition at Sanford and has always had great community support in the past.
The parade will start at 4:00pm on Friday, Oct. at the tennis courts on Alumni Boulevard (by Route 4) and finish at Gil Dionne softball field (by Main Street). This parade is open to the public

“In order to enjoy the parade spectators are encouraged to park at the high school no later than 3:30 to line the parade route along Alumni Boulevard,” said Student Council Advisor Nate Smith. “After 3:30, Alumni Boulevard will be closed off until the end of the parade.” People who arrive after 3:30 should park off campus and walk to the parade route. The route 4 entrance will be closed to the public and all traffic will enter from the Main St entrance.
At the completion of the parade, Alumni Boulevard will be back open to the public for traffic for the football game which will be at 7pm.
If students want to be involved with their class parade they can check with their class officers.
The Homecoming Dance
The semi-formal dance takes place Saturday, Oct. 14 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The cost is $10 at the door and students must have their student IDs with them. If a student is bringing a date that does not attend SHS, they must receive prior approval with a form located in the Assistant Principal’s office.
