Three teams will host home playoff games Oct. 19-20
Updated Oct. 20 to reflect the girls’ volleyball win on Oct. 19.
Sanford High School Athletic Director Zach Lemelin recently announced that four teams will compete in the Maine State Class A Playoffs this week.
The fifth-seeded Volleyball team will host 12th-seeded South Portland High School on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. at Partners Bank Gymnasium.
On Friday, Oct. 20, our seventh-seeded Field Hockey team will host the 10th-seeded Windham High School at 5 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
Following the conclusion of the field hockey game, the seventh-seeded Girls Soccer team will host the 10th-seeded Bonny Eagle High School for a Class A Prelim game at 7 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
Lemelin also congratulated and wished the Cross Country team luck as they head to Cumberland on Saturday, Oct. 21 for the MPA Regional Cross Country Meet. In this meet, teams and individual runners can qualify to run in the State Championship the following weekend.
UPDATE, OCT. 20: The Volleyball team will advance to the State Quarterfinals after winning their prelim game 3-0 on Thursday, Oct. 19 vs. South Portland. The team will head to #4 Deering High School on Saturday, Oct. 21 for a 12:00 p.m. (noon) start. The game will be streamed via YouTube on the following link. https://www.youtube.com/@DeeringRams
Deering High School will be charging admission for the game: $5 for Adults and $3 for Students/Senior Citizens.
