Coaches and athletes celebrate the conclusion of the 2023-24 season

On Monday, March 4, the annual Winter Sports Banquet took place in Sanford High School’s Performing Arts Center. The event brought together all winter sports teams for coaches to provide recaps of their seasons and hand out individual athlete awards.

Below are some of the highlights:

Wrestling

Leadership Award: Luke Callis, Mason Van Gieson, Canton Hill, James Chaplick 

Wrestling does not have its league meeting until Monday All-Conference nominations will be determined at a later date.

Indoor Track

• Most Improved: Matthew Melvin and Eliza Allen
• Coaches:  Zach Michienzi and Caylee Dubois
• Most Valuable: Tucker Walker and Lily Peters
• Most Outstanding Track Athlete: Rhylen Avery and Mackenzie Taylor
• Most Outstanding Field Athlete: Craig Grant and Elizabeth Cahoon 
• All Conference: Tucker Walker, Mason Van Gieson
• All State: Tucker Walker 

Cheer

• Most Improved: Harlow Noble

• Most Valuable: Natalie Lam
• Dedication Award: Ellie McGrath

Girls Basketball
