Chamber Singers and Select Treble Choir Receive High Honors

Both choirs performed at the ACDA Adjudicated Festival at Scarborough High School

SANFORD, Maine — On Thursday, April 25, The Sanford Chamber Singers and Select Treble Choir performed at the ACDA Adjudicated Festival at Scarborough High School. This is the first time Sanford has had choirs perform in the adjudicated festival.

The Select Treble Choir performed “Truth” by Andrea Ramsey and “What Was I Made For?” by Billie Eilish, arranged by Jennifer Lucy Cook. They received an “Excellent”, the second highest honor one can earn; receiving a Superior on their Sight Reading.

Members of the Select Treble Choir include Hope Abbott-Eaton, Ava Allen, Morgan Bailey, Calleigh Bill, Alison Curcio, Rachel Cyr, Avila Cyr, Melca Debatian, Olivia Giles, Natalie Giles, Annika Hamblin, Rebecca Horton, Lillian Lakin, Hannah Paterson, Kaylin Penley, Kat Randall, Valerie Randall, Meredith Schoenherr, Arlo Smith and Autumn Zielke.

The Chamber Singers performed “Keep your Lamps” arranged by Andre Thomas and “Time” by Jennifer Lucy Cook. They had an outstanding showing; receiving a “Superior with Distinction”, the highest honor for an ensemble.

Members of the Sanford Chamber Singers include Hope Abbott-Eaton, Calleigh Bill, Alison Curcio, Rachel Cyr, Sean Fowler, Natalie Giles, Lillian Lakin, Connor Kingsbury, Kaylin Penley, Hannah Paterson, Valerie Randall, Meredith Schoenherr, Arlo Smith, Mason Van Gieson, Benjamin Terril, Drake Wilson and Autumn Zielke.

The Festival included a clinic with an expert member of the choral community, a performance for other schools, and an evaluation with an award.
