Golf’s Brayden Baron and Volleyball’s Samone Gallagher named Spartan Athletes of the Week
Golf’s Brayden Baron and Volleyball’s Samone Gallagher were named by The Spartan Times and Sanford Athletics as “Athletes of the Week” for their performances Sept. 16 – 21.
Gallagher, a senior, had 9 kills against York, then against Portland she had 9 kills and 11 digs.
“Samone’s offensive and defensive presence is extraordinary,” said Head Coach Ryan Geary, also adding that Gallagher is playing some of the best volleyball he has seen in Maine.
Baron, a senior, had a strong week on the course with a team-low score of 44 against Massabesic, then had a team-low score of 47 against Kennebunk
Coach Kearson states, “Brayden had a good showing against Noble by shooting a 44 and winning his match. This helped contribute to our overall win.”
