Field Hockey’s Megan Sheppard and Soccer’s Gavin Hebler named Spartan Athletes of the Week
Field Hockey’s Megan Sheppard and Boys Soccer Gavin Hebler were named by The Spartan Times and Sanford Athletics as “Athletes of the Week” for their performances on Oct. 7 – 12.
Sheppard, a senior Goalie on the Spartans field hockey team had an outstanding 15 saves against Biddeford throughout the game.
Coach Kane states, “Megan turned away some of the toughest shots we’ve faced this season. She held strong in the face of a challenging Biddeford attack and did a great job of keeping our defensive unit composed.
Hebler, a junior, had a great performance against Massabesic with 2 goals and 1 assist, which helped propel the team to a 5-1 victory.
“Gavin is a leader on the team and works hard to raise the level of play of the entire group. He is an unselfish player who will do whatever it takes to get the job done,” Assistant coach John Hamilton stated.
