Athletes of the Week: October 20-26

Cross Country’s Isaac Pelletier and Soccer’s Savannah Knight named Spartan Athletes of the Week

Soccer’s Savannah Knight and Cross Country’s Isaac Pelletier were named by The Spartan Times and Sanford Athletics as “Athletes of the Week” for their performances on Oct. 20-26.

Knight, a senior defensive star on the Spartans Soccer team had an outstanding week leading the spartans to a shutout against Marshwood and hard fought battle against Kennebunk.

“Savannah is one of our talented, hard working backs,” said Coach Dave McCall. “She helped lead us to a shutout tie against Marshwood [and] excelled in our overtime  playoff loss to Kennebunk.  In both games, Savannah played the entire game and continually shut down the opponents top scorers.  Her technique and focus is so strong that she rarely ever gets beat.  She is very fast as well and can keep up with quickest, most talented players in the  league.”

Pelletier, had a great performance at Twin Brooks with his personal best time of 18:26.84.

“Isaac qualified for states after being injured all season,” Coach Nate Smith said. “He had to sit out all of outdoor track and summer training due to breaking his ankle this spring. We are very proud of what he has accomplished in such a short amount of time!”

Congratulations to our Spartan Athletes of the Week!
