SANFORD, Maine – On Thursday, Nov. 7 Sanford High School hosted a College and Career Fair. Approximately 80 vendors, including community colleges, trade schools, four year colleges, military recruiters, and multiple companies set up booths to engage SHS students.
The fair allows upperclassmen (juniors and seniors) to start thinking about their future after high school and what they might be interested in.
Students were able to take booklets, keychains, pens, candy, and even socks.
Brianna Burby, an SRTC Welding Program junior, appreciated the variety of vendors to open up student minds about different paths.
“I talked to a ton of companies and recruitment officers that I want to consider after I graduate from SHS,” she said.
Lexi Hayward, a senior, enjoyed talking to the colleges she’s already applied to or is hoping to apply to.
“I was thankful each booth had infographics, QR codes, and info sheets that allow me to explore more about the colleges after the fair,” she added.
Ahead of the fair, junior and senior homerooms were provided with a list of attendees and encouraged to research which booths they may want to stop by, along with a prompted list of questions students could prepare.
Thank you to Ms. Quarles and Ms. Farrell for helping put this on each year!
