SANFORD, Maine – Sanford Athletics will be hosting its first official College Signing Day in Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, May 28 at 1:30 p.m. The event will honor more than one dozen student-athletes in the Class of 2025 who have officially committed to playing a sport(s) at the college level.

“The day is going to be a great opportunity to recognize the athletes and their accomplishments,” said Zachary Lemelin, Athletic Director.

In the past, Athletics has held some individual events for former students, but Lemelin wants to ensure as many committed student-athletes as possible are properly recognized. By holding the event for all committed athletes on the same day, Lemelin hopes to create an opportunity for more athletes to receive proper recognition and encourage more friends, families, and staff to attend.

Honorees will wear their new school gear while their declared majors and sports will be shared for attendees.

Sanford is proud to honor the following student-athletes for their college athletic commitments:

  • James Allen-Chaplick
  • Brady Adams
  • Noah Corliss
  • Kya Duprey
  • Adeline Fiandaca
  • Zacharia Kassim
  • Savannah Knight
  • Simon Lanigan
  • Lukas MacLean
  • Mckenna Nanartowich
  • Lorenzo Omorogbe
  • Madison Osborne
  • Audrey Payeur
  • Sadie Sevigny
  • Tiffany Souliere
  • Canton Hill

According to ScholarshipStats.com, approximately 7% of high school athletes go on to play a varsity sport in college. Some of the schools our athletes have committed to include UMaine, USM, SMCC, Thomas College, Saint Joe’s, Saint Anselm’s, Colby Sawyer, Emmanuel and more.
