Sanford Athletics honors all three-sport athletes at luncheon catered by Los Olas

SANFORD, Maine – On Tuesday, May 21, Sanford’s three-sport athletes celebrated with a luncheon hosted by Sanford Athletics in the Partner’s Bank Gymnasium.

Students who participated in three sports in the 2024-25 school year were invited to a lunch catered by Los Olas Taqueria to celebrate their yearlong commitments to sports in our school. Additionally, these athletes were celebrated for balancing academics with sports throughout the school year.

Sanford Athletic Director Zach Lemelin said, “Being part of three sports a year is really challenging and takes a lot of hard work.”

The lunch took place in the Partners Bank Gymnasium. Menu items included burritos, tacos and baked goods.

“It’s really cool to have 63 three-sport student athletes this year, it’s grown every year,” said Lemelin, “It’s really exciting to celebrate and recognize them [at the luncheon] for their hard work.”

Los Olas is a local restaurant in Wells that serves Mexican Cuisine, including tacos, nachos, burritos, chips and more.

9th Grade:
