Sanford – On Thursday, October 30, at 7 p.m. Sanford High cheerleaders had their senior night at the last football game. There are 5 seniors: Bella Tounge, Mariah Provencher, Maddie Nadeau, Harlow Noble, and Gillian Utgard.
Captains Bella and Mariah have been doing cheerleading since their Freshman year. They are the 2025 fall cheerleading captains. Sophia Randell expressed, saying, “The captains really support us and help us grow as cheerleaders. And set a good example for everyone on the team.”
“I’m very proud to be the captain of this team. I love to see everyone grow and enjoy the sport that I love.” Bella said.

Members Gillian, Maddie, and Harlow have all added new elements to the team, adding more senior members. When asked how Harlow felt about being on the cheerleading team, Harlow replied, “I love how these girls always work together to support each other in everything, physically and mentally.”
The end of the football season reminds us not just to support football players, but also to cheer for cheerleaders and the band, to show recognition to all sports and clubs.
