A preview of Sanford High’s 2025 fall play

SANFORD – The SHS Theater Co. is excited to announce that “Our Town” is set to hit the stage of the Sanford Performing Arts Center on Nov. 14-16, with a special school showing during 4th and 5th block on Nov. 14.

Join us as we journey through the story of Emily Webb (played by Anna Brown) as told by the character stage manager (played by Braeden Landry) in a dramatic spectacle that captures the meaning of love, loss and life.

“‘Our Town’ is a classic Thornton Wilder play that […] captures the tempo of life over 100 years ago in our country,” explained Director Brett Williams, “It’s a story that’s just as relevant today as it was then.” Williams believes that every person who leaves that theater after the show will walk out a changed person—one that has a better grasp on what it means to truly be alive

Compared to past productions, this show is more minimalist with its set design and costumes (created by Kristie Baker and her crew), instead relying on the cast’s ability to paint a picture within the minds of the audience with just their acting and storytelling.
