SANFORD – Students in their homerooms at SHS signed up for next year’s classes this week. Required classes were previously added by teachers to each student’s Infinite Campus portal. Students then had to add the rest of their courses by choice, with a due date of March 18, 2026. All students were shown a video describing graduation requirements and key information needed, then directed to finish their schedules.

There are multiple changes to the SHS schedule in general for next year, including the shift from five to four blocks and new class options.

School counselors were available Thursday and Friday at lunch for questions and concerns.

How many credits are needed to fill a schedule?

  • Rising Freshman- No schedule changes unless it is a level change, a student has not met the prerequisite or administrative approval.
  • Rising Freshmen & Sophomores- Need to register for 8 credits worth of courses and 2 credits of alternates.
  • Rising Juniors- Must register for a minimum of 6 credits and two alternates but can register for a total of 8 credits if they do not want late arrival/early release.
  • Rising Seniors-
    • Must register for Civics and an English class (either YCCC, AP, or an English elective of their choosing) at a minimum
    • Seniors may be registered for up to 8 credits.

Students who don’t complete schedules on time will have theirs picked by a school counselor instead.
