By Jacqlyn Prescott

SANFORD – This year starts a new chapter for Sanford High boys lacrosse. After three years of being combined with Noble High School, they are finally stepping onto the field as their own team. With many new players and coaches, they are ready and excited to start their season and make it one to remember.

We spoke with some players who were willing to share what they are looking forward to about the upcoming season. “I am most excited for the development of my teammates and trying to get us all ready for senior year, when we are able to have a varsity team,” said sophomore Carter Wood. Another student also shared his thoughts. “I’m looking forward to being with friends and making connections with my teammates,” said Marcus Harriman. Both students we spoke with seemed very excited about building their own team and developing stronger bonds with each other.

The coaches of the team are Brandon Harriman and Clarence Morris. We spoke with one of the coaches and he shared his thoughts on the upcoming season. “Sanford boys lacrosse is back. These boys are ready to hit the field hard and their opponents harder. We got a good group of kids. I think this season is a foundation to build a strong program,” said coach Harriman.

The first boys’ lacrosse game is on May 11, and they would love to see you come out and support the new team.
